Omega AirGraver®
Two versions of the largest
AirGraver handpiece called "Omega" are available. Omega Bronze and Ultimate
Omega
Omega Bronze AirGraver®
For engraving of custom car and hot rod parts,
motorcycles, firearms, jewelry stone setting and engraving, as well other high
frequency cutting and hammering operations.
The Omega Bronze operates with air pressures
of from .05 to 80 psi, giving the tool a vast power range. The
piston's mass in the handpiece is nearly three times that of the middle sized
Classic AirGraver handpiece, providing awesome hammering power when needed.
Impact per minute range: 2,000 at idle; through 13,000 at 80 psi.
The 3" long Omega Bronze handpiece
features a nose with detents for indexing in eight positions. The detents allow
the nose to be turned so that a graver can be easily indexed, i.e. for
orientating between a flat and square graver quickly. Along with the
friction fit handle, this provides
what
amounts to eight different positions of the
tubing attachment location. Users can
set up the orientation of the handle and
tubing location to their liking. The handpiece can be right or left handed
or anywhere between.

3/32" square graver blanks and handpiece tubing.
The tool holder in the Omega
Bronze Handpiece nose is a .133" (slightly over 1/8") diameter hole,
with a setscrew. The .133" tool hole is the size of a 3/32" square
measured across the corners so that 3/32" square gravers work well in the tool
as well as any shank that will fit into this size hole. If the tang of the
graver you are using is larger than the tool hole you will need to grind it to
fit.
For
the Omega Bronze a less expensive controller is available. It utilizes a disc foot
throttle, needle valve and toggle on/off.
If user already has an AirGraver
controller utilizing the heel/toe foot pedal with the two regulators, the "Omega
Bronze Handpiece" will run with it, and there is no need to purchase the Bronze controller.
Note: The Omega Bronze controller
is not recommended for use with the Ultimate Chasing and Classic handpieces.

Ultimate Omega AirGraver®
The Ultimate Omega is one of three of the Ultimate series AirGravers. The
Ultimate AirGravers
include a ring or barrel around the outside of the tool.
Working in a manner similar to a focusing ring on a camera lens, the ring is used
to adjust the overall impac
ting
speed and power of the tool.
The foot control is used to vary the power within each setting
range.
The mechanism makes one AirGraver handpiece as versatile as a
variety of sized impacting gravers.

rapid graver change, three position air tubing attachment location, supple black

Sample
cuts made by an Omega in a steel plate. The cuts were taken with a 3/32" square graver
having a 110 degree V, 45 degree face and 17 degree heel. Width of
single cut is .091". Width of two cut pass is the full corner to
corner width of the 3/32" graver (.133" or slightly over 1/8" of an inch).
The graver was set back in a cut for the photograph.
